FOCUS is an introductory course to Critical Care Transthoracic Echocardiography and General Ultrasound.  If you are working in the critical care setting (emergency or intensive care) and are new to ultrasonography, you will find this course extremely useful. This is a 2 day course which covers the following topics:

Day 1 – Introduction to echocardiography

·         Basic physics and knobology

·         Transthoracic echocardiography – Anatomy, views and orientation

·         Hands-on practical sessions

Day 2 – General ultrasound

·         Central and peripheral vessels assessment and ultrasound-guided line placement

·         Lung and pleural ultrasonography

·         Abdominal ultrasonography

·         Hands-on practical sessions
