Øto advance knowledge in critical care medicine and improve patient care through research;
Øto promote, support and carry out scientific and clinical research focused on improving patient management and care;

Øto provide relevant aids to other critical care institutions and their patients.
At present, NICCER is actively engaged in critical care echocardiography education through the organisation of regular training courses at different levels – from hands-on entry courses to advanced courses. Seminars for the general public on critical illness (prevention and management) are also organised. In terms of research, NICCER is supporting and conducting various projects ranging from basic science (e.g. functional genomic studies) to clinical science (e.g. cardiology and neurology) studies. It also supports and participates in clinical trials. As the funding source grows NICCER plans to expand its educational programmes and support for critical care research. When adequate resources and funds are raised, NICCER will also provide various emergency aids, in form of equipment loan or funds, to other critical care institutions to manage their patients.
